Wild elephants destroy crops at Muttur village

Mysuru, October 12:- Farmers of Muttur village in Periyapattana taluk have complained that their crops have been completely damaged by the wild elephants. They also alleged that the officials of the forest department have not taken measures against it.

Farmers are suffering due to regular elephant attacks at Muttur village. The families of hundreds of farmers are struggling as their paddy, millet and ginger crops have been destroyed. Though trenches have been dug up between forest and villages, the elephant attacks have continued. Farmers have alleged that the officials of the forest department have remained silent spectators though they are aware of the problem. (MR/KS)
