Health News, Karnataka, Health, Disease, Bengaluru, May 23:- With new 196 coronavirus cases in Karnataka on Saturday, the tally of active cases is set to cross two thousand.
According to Health and Family Welfare Services, Government of Karnataka, on Saturday (May 23), a total of new 196 Covid-19 cases were reported, thus taking the tally to 1,939 with 42 deaths and 598 cured and discharged, the active cases stands at 1,297.
Of the 196 cases, 102 were men and 72 women. As many as 22 children under the age of 11 have also tested positive for the virus.
Yadgir district has seen a big jump in the number of cases (72), followed by Raichur (39), Mandya (28), Gadag (15), Hassan and Bengaluru Urban – 4 each, Dakshina Kannada and Davangere – 3 each, Kolar and Uttara Kannada – 2 each and Kalaburagi, Belagavi, Dharwad, Udupi – one case each.
As on previous day cases, the migrants from Maharashtra, Gujarat, New Delhi and Andhra who returned to the state have tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
As many as 112 migrants from Maharashtra tested positive followed by Gujarat (2), New Delhi and Andhra one case each. Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI), Influenza Like Illness (ILI) are the other causes of cases confirmed on May 23. (NAV)
