Prime News, National, Ahmedabad, July 1:- A woman named Manguben Makwana delivered a baby in the vicinity of the Gir forest in an ambulance in Amreli District of Gujarat.
During the nightmare, the paramedic staff of the ‘108’ ambulance handled the situation with courage and helped Makwana in giving birth, the lion pride, including three males, blocked the ambulance passage on the way to the hospital.
When the ambulance was shifting Makwana to a government hospital, in Jafarabad town, the on-duty Emergency Management Technician (EMT) Ashok Makwana realised that the woman would give birth anytime soon, as the head of the baby was protruding out. Asked the driver Raju Jadav to stop the ambulance mid-way to deal with the emergency.
While Ashok taking physician advice over the phone, the pride of lions, sensing the human presence, started emerging from the nearby bushes and surrounded the ambulance.
Though the crew of the ambulance tried to scare the lions away, the Lions refused to budge. Some of the lions even sat in front of the ambulance, blocking its passage, the report said.
Meanwhile, inside the ambulance, the cool EMT Ashok helped the woman deliver as per the directions received from the physician over the phone, the driver Jadav monitored the movement of the “curious” lions.
The driver moves the ambulance at a slow pace, the Lions realising the movement of ambulance eventually gave way to the ambulance.
The mother and child currently admitted to government hospital in Jafarabad, both are reportedly healthy.
