Women should be free from inferiority: Nirmala Matapathy

Mysuru, March 26:- “Women should be free from inferiority and need to be self-dependent,” said deputy director of Archeology department, Nirmala Matapathy here on Saturday.

She was speaking at Kala Vaibhava 2018 and Kamanabillu intercollegiate cultural competitions at JSS college.

“Art completes a person. It shapes one’s personality. When education is accompanied by art, it gives success. Today’s society is depending on technology. Everyone is busy with Facebook, WhatsApp and gaming. Instead of all these, art should be given top priority. Students have to utilise the opportunities and become successful in life,” she said.

Gundlupete JSS Arts College won treasure hunt, Maharaja College won quiz competition, and Gundlupet JSS College won 2nd prize. Maharani Arts college won the light music competition. St Joseph’s College won group dance competition. Gangubai Hanagal University won the solo dance competition.

The principal of the college, Dr. K V Suresh, dean Dr. H B Suresh, and others were present. (MR/GK).
