Mysuru, January 9:- A state-level seminar was organised for Youth Red Cross women volunteers by Youth Red Cross wing in association with Indian Red Cross organisation and its Mysuru district branch at Shree Nataraja Women’s Residential First Grade College here on Tuesday.
Speaking after inaugurating the seminar, chairperson of the organisation, Basaroor Rajeev Shetty said, “To lead a happy, prosperous and peaceful life, one should be healthy. I am glad that women have attended this seminar in large numbers. In today’s scenario, women must be given more prominence and opportunity. This seminar is organised to create awareness on health. You should also create awareness on first aid, the significance of blood donation among others. Everyone should have complete awareness of Janaushadhi centres.”
“Blood donation must be made without gender bias. This seminar will teach you how to give first aid treatment during an emergency. Only when a woman has self-confidence and faith on herself, she can achieve in life,” said Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath.
A lecture was given by state convenor M A Shakeeb. Mysuru district chairperson of Indian Red Cross, Dr K B Gurumurthy, seer Chidananda of Hosamatt, secretary of the organisation Dr M S Jayanth and vice principal of the college Prasada Murthy were present. (MR/SH)
