Mysuru, March 9:- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) women’s wing celebrated International Women’s Day at Salumarada Thimmakka Park at Ramakrishna Nagar here on Sunday.
Women who work as vegetable sellers, flower sellers, domestic help were felicitated on the occasion. Shivalingamma, Gangamma, Padmavathi and Rajeshwari were felicitated.
“Women should come out of the inferiority complex. Paths to achievement are open in all fields. Make use of the opportunities and achieve in life. Instead of becoming corporators and politicians in the name of husband, try to grow in your own way,” said former Syndicate member of the University of Mysore, Sudha Phaneesh.
“The state government has introduced various schemes for women. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also introduced schemes such as ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao.’ Government schemes should be properly utilised,” said Chamundeshwari Constituency BJP president BM Raghu.
Gejjegalli Mahesh, Vijaya Manjunath, Shubha Shri, Lakshmidevi, Rajamani, Eeregowda, Yuva Morcha president Rakesh Bhat and others were present. (MR/KS)
