Mysuru, March 8:- University of Mysore (UoM), Kuvempu Institute of Kannada Studies (KIKS), Women Employees’ Association and Women Lecturers’ Association jointly observed the 108th International Women’s Day at Rani Bahadur Hall at Manasagangothri here on Friday.
A seminar on women in global scenarios was held. Rajamatha Pramoda Devi Wadiyar inaugurated the event.
“If women are united, they can achieve anything and it has already been proved. The society contrasts women and still says Saraswathi is for education, Lakshmi is for wealth and Parvathi is for power. We can imagine the power of women when these three unite. Women have to further develop and women should encourage fellow women,” she said.
Dr H P Shobha, assistant professor, Department of Orthopedics, K R Hospital delivered a lecture on ‘Health and women.’ Superintendent of Police (Intelligence) Mysuru zone B T Kavitha, also delivered a lecture on ‘The system and women.’
Vice-Chancellor of UoM Prof G Hemanth Kumar, UoM Registrar Prof Lingaraja Gandhi and UoM Registrar of evaluation Prof K M Mahadevan were present. (MR/KS).
