Mysuru, July 13:- To the much relief of the commuters who travel between Mysuru-Bengaluru regularly, the expressway project is expected to begin by December 2017.
National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) Director BT Jwalendra Kumar, speaking at a function at National Institute of Engineering on Wednesday, said that the last date to submit the tender for the proposed expressway is July 28.
Kumar added that 10 companies have shown interest in the project and soon the project will be divided into two zones and will be finalised, says NHAI director.
It is estimated that once the project is completed, the travel time between the two cities will be cut down to 90 minutes, Kumar said and added that the project starts from Bengaluru NICE road to Mysuru Columbia Hospital, covering a distance of 118 km.
He further added that the toll for the expressway commuters has been fixed at Rs 200 and project cost is estimated at Rs 4700 crore and Rs 2700 crore is required for land acquisition.
