JSS Centre for Management Studies (JSS CMS), Department of Management Studies, JSS Science and Technology University, Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE), Mysuru, organized a workshop on ‘financial planning and wealth management’ at their campus on Friday.
Balaji Rao, founder of Sapien Knowledge ventures, inaugurated the workshop and Prof B G Sangameshwara, Vice-chancellor of JSS Science and Technology University presided over the function.
Addressing the gathering, Prof Sangameshwara emphasized the need of such workshops to understand the contemporary practices of corporates. He also said that students must upgrade their learning and analytical skills through the interactions with industrial experts and practitioners. He also said that students must plan and choose the domain and specializations according to interest of their career. He also advised the students to make use of workshops through interactions with resource persons.
The workshop covered key topics such as financial planning, financial markets and products, risk and reward and calculations on planning for short and long term financial goals. Discussions include asset allocation, cyclical asset performances and risk-return based asset allocation simulations. It aimed to throw light on wealth management, nuances of managing wealth, monitoring, evaluating plans and results, redefining goals and other related topics.
