Mysuru, September 23:- It was not an entertainment programme to attract the youth in large numbers. There was an unusual pindrop silence. Many of the youth were seen standing at Kalamandir today to keenly listen to the achievers in various disciplines.
The ‘Yuva Anveshane’ workshop organised by Yuva Dasara Sub-Committee saw a huge participation from the city youths. The two-day event is being organised for the first time during the Dasara festivities.
“One who doesn’t have food knows the value of hunger. One should work and anticipate for success as a stork awaits for fish. It is an herculean task to take up UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) examinations. But by planning and preparing success can be achieved. Today the internet is also there for your aid,” said Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Belagavi Zilla Panchayat Ramachandran.
“India is becoming a superpower. Youths should come forward to utilise the opportunities they get. Success cannot be achieved all of a sudden. I too passed the examination in my fourth attempt. We should go behind excellence,” said Deputy Commissioner D Randeep.
The two-day event was earlier scheduled to be held at Senate Bhavan at Manasagangothri campus of the University of Mysore, but following huge demand for the seminar the venue was shifted to Karnataka Kalamandir on Vinobha Road.
IPS officer and SP of Chikkamagaluru Annamalai, CEO of Belagavi Zilla Panchayat R Ramachandran, Venkat Raja, Arunangshu Giri, Mohammad Sujeetha, B M Darukesha, G Radhika, Gurudatt Hegde, Dr Rajendra K V and Ravi D Channannavar are the speakers on day one.
On Sunday, the second day of the ‘Yuva Anveshane,’ a programme titled ‘Fostering youth for world of opportunities’ will be held.
Former chairman of CII Dr N Muthukumar will deliver the welcome address; the theme address will be delivered by SP Ravi D Channanavar. The keynote address will be delivered by Kamal Bali, chairman of CII and deliver a lecture on topic ‘Make in India: Role of youth in making dream to reality.’
Other speakers on day two includes director of ISRO Dr M Annadurai, who will speak on ‘Science as a way of life,’ Suhas Gopinath, chairman and founder of Globals, founder-chairman and MD Kris Lakshmikanth, Ajay Gopi and M S Raghu will deliver lecture on various topics.
Shubhshankari of the city expressed her happiness for organising such a workshop. “Students of Mysuru aspire to attend such workshops. We have been thoroughly explained about the preparations for UPSC exams,” she added.
About 3,000 youth took part in the workshop. Students got their doubts cleared by consulting the experts.
Mysuru City Corproation commissioner G Jagadish, Superintendent of Police Ravi D Channannavar, Dasara Sub-Committee president Manjunath, vice president Indhan Babu, Nanjunda and others were present.
