Workshop on mathematics held for teachers in city

Mysuru, October 23:- A one-day workshop on mathematics for teachers was held at the Regional Museum of Natural History here on Sunday.

Editor of magazine ‘Vibhava’ Prof M R Nandan inaugurated the workshop.

“Workshops play an important role in improving the knowledge of teachers. Teachers have to be studious to improve their knowledge. They should teach the history of mathematics and the recent trends in the subject to make the students more curious,” he said.

Director of Gandhi Centre of Science Dr S Balachandra Rao spoke about India’s contributions in space science. He released the edition of magazine ‘Vibhava’ on the occasion.

Indu Kumar, Dr Padmaja Venugopal, Prof V Vanaja, Prof Shailaja, Dr G N Indresh and others were present.

Mysore Science Foundation, Regional Museum of Natural History and Association of Mathematics Teachers of India jointly organised the workshop.
