Workshop on organic farming held at SBRR Mahajana FGC

Mysuru, March 7:- The Geography Department and IQAC of SBRR Mahajana First Grade College organised a one-day workshop on ‘Organic farming and sustainable development’ on Tuesday.

“That the green revolution is said to have taken place in the country is nothing but an illusion. Farmers who feed the nation are struggling for food even today. Organic farming has been sidelined due to chemical farming. Even if we harm the nature, it still remains the same,” said state president of organic farming wing of Karnataka Agriculture Association, Bannur Krishnappa.

Balachandran C explained about the relationship one needs to have with nature.

Environmentalist Vasanth Kumar Mysoremath stressed the importance of growing vegetables in the backyard or terrace garden.

Principal Dr S Venkataramu, lecturer in Geography C S Siddaraju, Dr Vinodamma, Sunita and others were present. (MR/SH).
