Workshop on ‘Prior art search’ held at NIEIT  

Mysuru, June 30:- A two-day workshop on ‘Prior art search’ was inaugurated at the premises of Centre for Intellectual Property Rights (CIPR), NIEIT, Koorgalli, here on Friday.

Dr Mannan B, CEO, Sunsmart IP Services, Bengaluru, who was the chief guest, explained the need for conducting ‘Prior art search’ before filing patents.  He illuminated various prior art search techniques to the gathering.

G S Ramachandra, honorary secretary, NIE- MC, who presided, delivered the presidential remarks, appreciated the initiatives taken by the Centre for intellectual property rights.

Dr T Ananthapadmanabha, principal, NIEIT, emphasised the need for intellectual property protection for engineers and the initiatives taken by the institute.

Nithin M, assistant professor, Department of ME and coordinator, CIPR; Rekha, assistant professor, Department of EEE; Manasa K B, assistant professor, Department of ISE and coordinator, CIPR; Pawan Bharadwaj, assistant professor, Department of ECE and coordinator, CIPR;  HoDs, faculty members and staff members were present. -KK
