The Department of Mechanical Engineering of ATME College of Engineering conducted a two-day workshop on ‘Recent Technologies in Nano Materials and Nano Composites’ recently at the college campus.
The workshop was inaugurated by Dr L Basavaraj, Principal, ATMECE and dignitaries of the dais.
On the first day, Dr Raji George, Professor, MSRIT, Bangalore gave a talk on fundamental and metallurgical properties of nanomaterials and advantages of various nano materials in the field of engineering application.
In the second session, Dr Suresha Bhimappa, Prof and Dean R&D, NIE, Mysuru gave a lecture on fundamentals of composites and various types of composite materials. He also briefed about the fabrication and characterisation process for polymer matrix composites.
On the second day, eminent scientist Dr Siddartha Joshi, Centre for Nano-sciences & Technology, NIE, Mysuru delivered a lecture on nanomaterials thin films for device applications.
Dr Rathnakar, Prof and Head, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering presided the valedictory function and Dr Siddartha Joshi was the chief guest. Research scholars, Faculties and Students of ATMECE attended the workshop.
