Mysore District Parents’ Association for Empowering Developmentally Disabled observed World Autism Awareness Day at its Training Centre in Gokulam on April 2.
Advisor for rural outreach programmes at CFTRI Renu Agarwal, Senior Scientist M C Bhansali, the District Chairman For Physically handicapped Lion Districts Chairman for ICSI Mysuru Chapter visited the training centre as a part of World Autism Awareness Day, interacted with special children and studied the activities at the workshop.
During the event, Kuteer programme Head Nair spoke about the activities of the programme and projected the visuals of specially abled persons working in different areas.
Founder-Member Arakkal Basheer said that the main objective of the association was to place persons with intellectual developmental diseases (PWIDDS) in mainstream jobs. He thanked the employers like Kaynes Technology, Rishi Fibc, Vinays Innovative and Rangsons. He conveyed a message to the corporate sector and public to support the noble cause of the association. He also said that his associations and personal experience as the chief coordinator of Sadhya Employment Programme have proved that differently abled can be employed after proper training.
Anuradha Nandakumar, President of MDPAEDD, former governing council members Vani Basavaraj and Sulekha Nair were present along with others.
