Technology can be used to save environment opined educationist and administrative officer of SMS organisation B V Manjunath recently.
He was speaking after inaugurating the World Environment Day celebrations organised by Federation of Non-Governmental Organisations, Anikethana PU College, District Kannada Sahithya Parishat, and Rotary Midtown at Bettadapura village.
Addressing the gathering he said that man is an intellectual creature to have walked the earth. The massive technological developments that are taking place today are an example of his abilities. But unfortunately, he is destroying his own house. Technology has both positive and negative impacts on life. We must use it to save environment. Technology alone will not solve the problem, but it is a part of solution. Let us use technology as a way to amplify our voices in support of environment. On this day, we all need to take the pledge of planting as many as saplings in our surrounding and keep the environment clean.
Progressive Organic farmer Padmamma said that on Environment Day everyone plants a sapling on environment day. But the need is to take care of the sapling till it grows to be a tree as it generates oxygen and provide us with a healthy environment.
Seer Mokshapathi Swamiji of Muruga Mutt, Educationist Vasantharaje Urs, Organic farming expert Datthathreya, Kanaga Health Clinic Founder Dr Praveen Kanagal, Rotary Midtown President Dr Prakash Babu, District Kannada Sahithya Parishath President B M Shivanna, Anikethana PU College Principal Basavaraju and others were present.
