World Environment Day held at ATME College of Engineering

Mysuru, June 3:- The World Environment Day was celebrated at ATME College of Engineering here recently.

Shivashankar, secretary, ATMECE, inaugurated the programme by planting saplings on the occasion and expressed his concern over preserving the environment for the next generation.

Dr L Basavaraj, principal, ATMECE, talked about “air pollution” and appealed to people not to pollute the air by burning plastic and other toxic items and also advised them to grow more plants and not to cut trees.

Various types of saplings were planted at the campus. Prof Devaraj welcomed the gathering and Dr Rathnakar G, head of the department of mechanical engineering, proposed vote of thanks. Heads of all departments, faculty members and students were present.(MR)
