Mysuru, November 11:- Karnataka Science and Technology Academy (KSTA) had organized “World Science Day for peace and development” in association with NIE Institute of Technology, Mysuru, with a theme “Science for global understanding in the city on Friday.
The programme was inaugurated by S L Ramachandra, Director, NIE-MC, Mysuru. He emphasized the attitudes of curiosity and questioning to gain the knowledge of science and technology by giving daily life examples.
The keynote address was delivered through audio message by N Ramanuja,
Hon. Vice President, NIE-MC. Addressing the gathering he spoke about the relevance of the program and need for science for world peace and development.
The programme was presided over by Prof K Chidananda Gowda, Retired Vice Chancellor, Kuvempu University, Shivamogga. Explaining the magnanimity of science, he said that only 4% of the universe is observed, 23% observable, and remaining 73% is unobservable dark matter. Further he emphasized the movement of science and technology with spirituality and humankind.
He concluded by saying that the marvels of applied sciences and engineering must contribute towards the peace and development of human society.
