Mysuru, September 21:- With the commencement of Mysuru Dasara festivities; the rituals by the royal family of Mysuru have begun at the Amba Vilasa Palace. The private durbar by the King which has been the tradition of Mysuru Dasara began with various rituals on the first day of the Navaratri celebrations.
Yaduveer, wearing the royal attire, performed puja to the throne before taking the seat. He was sprinkled holy water brought from different temples of Mysuru. Yaduveer was hailed when he arrived at the Palace Durbar Hall.
‘Kankana Dharane’ to Yaduveer was performed at the Chamundi thotti at 8:20 am and later ‘Pattada Aane,’ ‘Pattada Kudure’ and ‘Pattada Hasu’ (elephant horse and cow) were brought to the Chamundi thotti at 11:45 am and later the Kalasa puje was performed. Several other rituals were also held prior to the enthronement of Yaduveer.
Yaduveer who has been holding the Khasa (private) darbar since three years, will continue to hold the private darbar at 7 pm during the nine-day festival and will perform a puja to the vintage arms and hold a Dasara Vijaya Yatre on his silver chariot at the grounds of the Palace on the tenth day.
