Yeddyurappa can’t upset state government: Siddaramaiah

Mysuru, April 16:- “Whatever B S Yeddyurappa might try, he can’t upset the state coalition government,” said former chief minister Siddaramaiah.

He was addressing the media at Mysuru Press Club on Tuesday.

“The attempt to weaken the government may speed up after the Lok Sabha polls, but the government will remain unaffected. Income Tax raids are taking place keeping elections in mind. Why the raid is taking place only against non-BJP leaders?  Houses of Yeddyurappa, Shobha Karandlaje, CT Ravi, Aravinda Limbavali and R Ashoka should also be raided. Are they the epitome of honesty?” Siddaramaiah questioned.

“There is no misunderstanding between Congress and JD(S) leaders and party workers. Former prime minister H D Deve Gowda and I held several meetings. There was no confusion among the party workers. The coalition government has been appreciated by the people. The victory of our candidates in by-elections is a pointer to that,” he added.

“Why Modi isn’t speaking about 10 crore job creation? What has he done for the youths? BJP is making false campaign on black money. The price hike is out of control. Though fuel price has come down in the international market, its benefit has not reached the public. When will the people get benefited with the money from Jan Dhan? Rs 30,000 crore is being spent on SEP TSP. He has not raised voice against Supreme Court decision on the reservation. Around 99% of the cash returned during demonetisation. Where is the black money then? It has adversely affected the economy,” he said.

“Modi is facing election on emotional issues. Pulwama terror attack has killed our soldiers. Why no action was taken during their transportation? Already 12 surgical strikes have been held. Four wars have been fought against Pakistan. None of them was used for election purpose. Why Modi is hesitating to implement reservation for women? Have they given tickets to women and backward communities? Where is social justice then? What is Sab Ka Saath Sab ka Vikas? Carry out I-T raids on those who don’t pay tax. But why raid during the elections?” Siddaramaiah questioned.

“BJP has ruled India for 11 years. Why they didn’t build Ram Mandir? They always want it as an election issue,” he said.

Congress leaders, president of the Mysuru District Journalists’ Association (MDJA) C K Mahendra, general secretary K J Lokesh Babu, city secretary Raghavendra, vice- president Subramanya were present. (MR/KMR).
