Yeddyurappa-Prasad meeting called off

The scheduled meeting between former minister V Srinivasa Prasad and former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today stands cancelled. Prasad, who was supposed to meet BSY, stayed back at his residence in Jayalakshmipuram.

The sources say that Prasad is playing his cards safe to ensure his political career is not affected. Though the news that Prasad is joining the BJP is doing rounds, the veteran leader has not issued a statement in this connection. He will hold a mega convention of his followers on November 8 at Nanjanagud to give a fitting reply to all the allegations made against him.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and District In-charge Minister Dr H C Mahadevappa have questioned the morality of Prasad and alleged that he goes behind power and not concerned about the party and the development of the state. Responding to this, Prasad said that he would answer to all the allegations made by the CM and Mahadevappa at the convention on November 8.

He is expected to join BJP as he was invited by the leaders to join the party, say sources. Veteran BJP leader, L K Advani, BJP National President Amit Shah, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and other leaders have held talks with Prasad and convinced him to join the party. As soon as he decided to resign as MLA, Rajnath had told the BJP leaders to meet him and invite him to join the BJP. He is expected to announce his decision on his next political move on November 8.
