Narayana Multi-speciality Hospital conducted a mammoth Yogathan to mark World Heart Day to create awareness on people about the heart disease at Kote Anjaneya temple on Sunday.
The event was organised under the tagline “Power your Life” of the World Heart Federation. It was conducted under the guidance of Pathanjali Yoga Guruji, Keshava Murthy Acharaya.
More than 1000 yoga enthusiasts and public from the city took part in the event.
Speaking after inaugurating the Yogathan, Dr Keshava Murthy, heart specialist, at Narayana Multi-speciality Hospital opined that the heart related diseases may be averted if yoga and physical exercise are practised every day. “Intake of minimum amount of fruits and vegetable will lessen the attack of heart related diseases,” he added.
Dr Manjunath said that Yoga which was invented about 5,000 years ago by the Indian yogis has become popular in the world which is plagued with mental and physical trauma in the recent times due to indiscipline lifestyle. He said that many diseases can be cured if yoga is practiced regularly.
