IAS and KAS aspirants of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) were told by Assistant Professor, Dr Prithvidatta Chandrashobhi to take up a full time job while studying for the competitive exams. “If candidates have genuine aspiration to excel in competitive exams they can, even while working”, he stated.
Earlier he delivered a lecture on “How to adopt History as a subject in competitive exams”, at a workshop conducted for IAS and KAS aspirants, organized by KSOU in Kavery Auditorium on Friday.
In the interactive session which followed the lecture he stated that the aspirants should be systematic in their learning. Candidates should study thoroughly and should have a clear idea on what to focus while studying.
There are lots of study material available in NCERT books, news papers and internet sources which can be accessed at affordable cost, and can be put in better use he opined.
KSOU Department of Tourism and Management Assistant Professor Dr Shelvapillai Iyengar delivered a lecture on ‘History of Karnataka and Administration during the regime of Wodeyars of Mysore’. He praised the administration of Krishanaraja Wodeyar of Mysore especially the high standards they had set towards public service.
Mental ability trainer A Krishnamurthy also rendered a lecture on ‘Aptitude in completive exams’. About 250 participants from various parts of Mysuru district took part in the workshop.
