Annapurna, younger sister of Rajashekar Koti passes away

Mysuru, July 7:- Annapurna Kuruvina Koppa (69), younger sister of veteran journalist late Rajashekar Koti,  passed away at her residence at Ramakrishna Nagar in the city on Monday following a heart attack.

She is survived by her husband Veerappa Kuruvina Koppa, sons Sunil and Sanjay.

Annapurna had trekked the Himalayas 12 times. She had trekked at Nainital, Dalhousie, and Mussoorie. She had been to Mt Everest base camp. She trekked mountain ranges of Nepal for one month.

She won third prize in an international marathon. She had led a state-level trekking team. She had been to Amarnath yatra thrice and Vaishnodevi yatra 4 times. She was a member of Mysore Grahakara Parishat and was the vice president of Bharat Youth Hospital. She had also worked as a member of the cleanliness committee of Vivekananda Nagar and as a volunteer at JSS Hospital. She was a member of Rashtriya Basavadala as well. (MR/KS)
