Mysuru, July 3:- The members of Paduvarahalli Srigandha Youths Association staged a protest in the city on Tuesday and urged the state government and the Governor of Karnataka to appoint a permanent vice chancellor for the University of Mysore (UoM).
The protesters, who gathered in front of Gandhi bust in front of District Law Courts alleged that there have been several attempts to defame the university by appointing In-charge vice chancellors after the retirement of Prof K S Rangappa. They urged Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala to appoint an educationist as the permanent vice chancellor of UoM.
Association president and advocate M Ramakrishna, G M Divakar, M Shivaprakash, Tennis Gopal, Ramesh, Rajesh Gowda and others were present. (KS, NGB)
