Youth found guilty over attempt to murder

Rakesh (29), a resident of VV Mohalla, has been found guilty in an attempt to murder case. The Mysuru District Court convicted and sentenced Rakesh to two years in jail for attempting to kill a girl in 2011. He was fined Rs 2.05 lakh out of which, Rs 2 lakh will be given to the victim, according to the court order.

Rakesh was booked under IPC sections 326 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapon) and 307 (attempt to murder) by Jayalakshmipurm police on December 29, 2011 for allegedly attacking Madhuri Hegde while she was coming out of an exam hall at Mahajana’s College.

Rakesh was in love with Madhuri but she spurned his love and married a software engineer and had settled down in other state. Madhuri was in Mysuru to attend Company Secreatary exam at Mahajana PU College on December 29, 2011. At around 12 pm, she was returning home after writing the exam and as pre-planned, Rakesh attacked her with dangerous weapons.
