State Government, Karnataka State Renewable Energy Resource Development Limited, Mysore division on Wednesday organised a rally to spread awareness on renewable energy resource on the occasion of National Fuel Conservation Day.
Deputy Commissioner D Randeep who flagged off the awareness rally in front of Kote Anjaneyaswamy temple premises, said “When we were young there was lack of awareness on the renewable energy and conventional form of energy. Today various innovations and new technologies are emerging in the field of energy. We need to sensitise the issue of renewable energy among the younger generation and create awareness to protect the energy resources.”
President of Rotary, Hanumantharaya said “We must make use of conventional form of energy and depend more on wind and solar power. More awareness programmes of this kind will bridge the gap among the general public who lack awareness on renewable energy.”
Hundreds of students, members of Rotary Club and others participated in the awareness rally that passed through Clock Tower , Gandhi Square, Sayyaji Rao Road, Irwin Road and Ashoka Road in city.
