Mysuru, August 16:- The officials of Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens here have caught an impersonator who had taken them for a ride for the past few days.
According to a complaint filed at Nazarbad Police Station, D Harish, son of Lakshman, a resident of Ballari had approached the Mysuru Zoo officials and claimed that he was an Assistant Conservator of Forest from Andhra Pradesh and was deputed to study the management of zoos in the state. He had allegedly produced documents and ID proof to the zoo officials.
The impersonator also enjoyed the hospitality at Mysuru Zoo on the pretext of gaining exposure and getting trained in the zoo for more than four weeks.
Growing suspicious over his behaviour, the zoo officials contacted the Andhra Pradesh Forest Department who confirmed that no such officer was sent for a deputation and no one in the name D Harish was working in the forest department.
The zoo officials have lodged a complaint against the impersonator at the Nazarbad Police Station. -KK
