Youth’s murder: Five land in police custody

Mysuru, March 22:- A complaint had been registered at Vijayanagar Police Station, saying one Raghavendra had gone missing. Vijayanagar Police registered a complaint and investigated the incident. The police have arrested five in connection with the murder of the youth.

The arrested have been identified as Rajath S M, 24, of Lokanayaka Nagar, Venkataramana, 29, of MCC Colony, Venkatesh, 25, also of MCC Colony, Chandan K, 24, of Belavadi and Keshava, 23, also of Belavadi.

During the inquiry, they confessed that Raghavendra and accused Rajath were friends and were running a finance company together. As they had some dispute over some financial issues, Raghavendra had spoken lightly about Rajath’s girlfriend. Enraged by this, Rajath planned to murder Raghavendra and gave supari to others. They brought Raghavendra together with them and strangled him with rope and slit his throat with a blade. They buried his body in the graveyard near Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Circle (Highway Circle) using JCB excavator.

Police have recovered weapons, cell phones, two cars and a JCB excavator.

The operation was guided by DCP Mutturaj and carried out by Inspector BG Kumar, staffs Mahadeva, Shankar, Eshwar, Somaradhya, Srinivas Murthy, Kantharaj, Shivamurthy, Harish, Mahadevaprasad and Rangesh.(MR/KS).
